Elizabeth Mulford contacted me one day and asked if I could clean up her Father’s cherished stuffed rabbit toy. It was an old, straw-stuffed animal and I told her that I may not be able to do more than find a way to fix the holes and create a new outfit. She said she understood and sent me the toy. Below is the before and after as well as Elizabeth’s reaction:
“Thank you so much, Liane! He is perfect and my husband actually was choked up when he saw the photo and that takes a lot from him. He will be perfect to pass along to my niece’s baby and I am so thrilled to have my dad’s toy restored. I will highly recommend you and in the future I may have another animal for myself as my dad had an old bear as well who is not in as worn of a condition but needs love and maybe an outfit as his is long gone. …. Thank you so much again. I know little to nothing about my father’s early life so having these toys restored makes me feel like I am closer to him again. Elizabeth Mulford (Just letting you know he arrived safely and is even better than what I said about the pictures! I love it! Thank you again!)”
Susan July sent us a knit blanket and an apron. She wanted them turned into Angel dolls for herself and her sisters. She wanted the Angels to be strong and Fierce.
Making angels from these to items was a big challenge but I was pleased with the way they turned out.
“The angel dolls came yesterday and they are perfect. I really like the size of them; not too small at all. I’m really looking forward to giving them as Christmas presents. Thanks so much.” Susan J July
Berri sent us her late Aunts fur coat. She wanted a bear made in her Aunt’s memory from it. The coat was Raccoon so it made a really fluffly bear.
“Liane, OMG! My Aunt Bettye Bear just arrived. I have been crying for 10 minutes. She came out perfect. I can still smell my Aunt. Thank you and you team for making a beautiful memory for me!” Berri Winnick
Tawny Beckmann sent us her wedding dress to have a christening gown and a toddler dress made from it for her grandchildren. Here is what she had to say about it:
“I am pleased beyond words to receive the Baptism gown and Toddler dress that Fairy Godmother Creations designed for my Granddaughter & future Grandchildren prayerfully to be born! These were expertly created & sewn from my wedding dress worn 43 years ago! These are Family heirlooms that will be cherished for years and years! My Mother just passed. She was 100! She used to sew for me & my 6 siblings. I’m very sure she would have been thrilled to see what you designed & created from my wedding dress! Thank you for your talent, dedication and hard work Liane!! Stay well! Most Sincerely,” Tawny Beckmann
Gloria sent her wedding dress to have us make a christening outfit for her granddaughter. The wedding dress had some pretty materials to work with. One of the things that older dresses (especially ones from the late 70s and early 80s) often have is some beautiful lace. However, it can be hard to tell just how beautiful the lace is because, back then, it was usually gathered. I like to take the gather out of the lace and use it flat so you can see the pretty, delicate pattern.
“Liane, received the dress so happy it turned out beautiful! It’s soooo beautiful! I just love what you did. Thank you so much Liane Can’t wait to give it to my daughter. Thanks so much” Gloria Geden.
