I had an unusual request this past month. John contacted me and asked me if I could make a stuffed version of an illustration he had that he called “Tough Old Bird”. He wanted it made for a friend who was suffering from some health issues as a way to cheer her up. The illustration is a cartoon of a ruffled turkey wearing a suit and walking with a cane. John
asked if I could add glasses as well.
It took me some time to pattern everything out. Creating a 3D version of an illustration takes a bit of work and creating the pattern is a big part of that work. There were some parts that I had to take more than one run at, but I was really pleased with the final “bird”. John was kind enough to send me some photos when he gave it to her.
