Jolene Soldana sent part of her wedding dress to have a christening gown made for one of her daughters. She loved the lace of her dress and wanted the emphasis to be put on to that. We ended up using a softer satin and taking the lace off the original dress and applying it to the softer satin.
Tina Bast sent her wedding dress to have a christening outfit made for her first grandson and any future grandchildren. We made our “Bishop” style gown. That allowed us to inset just a bit of the lace from the original WD. We also made matching booties, a girl’s bonnet and boy’s cap as well as a few kerchiefs.
Karyn True brought us her wedding dress to have outfits made for her granddaughter and future grandchildren. She wanted a total of three outfits from her gown. We had to cut very carefully to get all three outfits. There was literally just enough lace to be able to put it on each of the pieces. We also ended up making some pillows with the scraps.
Julia Frei wanted a complete ensemble for her godson from her wedding dress. We used every bit of fabric we could to get a bishop style gown with a ceremonial robe, a bit, booties, bonnet and bow tie pin. We put pleats down the front of the gown and used the blue satin piping from her veil as accent on each side. We also used the piping as accent on most of the accessories.
Mary Deming sent her wedding dress to have an outfit made for her grandson and future granddaughters. We tried to capture the beautiful cut-out embroidery on both the boy’s and the girl’s piece.
