Touch/Feely Blanket

I call them Touchy/Feely blankets, but they are also known as sensory blankets. For those not familiar with the concept, a touchy/feely blanket (or sensory blanket) is a blanket that can be used as a play mat for infants and toddlers. The blanket is made of individual fabric “blocks”. Each block is made of a different fabric or texture (soft, scratchy, shiny, dull . . .) I also include colors and shapes to pull on and play with so that the infant can explore the senses.

These sensory blankets are a challenge to put together because the fabrics don’t all work well together, but little ones love them.

This is one of the few items I offer made from materials that I supply. I’m currently offering it in two sizes and the pricing is based on the amount of time/materials that goes into each included block.

20 Block Blanket $315 (approximately 36″ x 45″). The blanket is made up of 20 fabric “blocks”. They include:

9 x Specialty fabric blocks (2 Plush, 2 Faux Fur, 1 Brocade, 1 Vinyl, 1 Sequin, 2 Velvet, 1 Velour, 2 Fleece)
3 x Furry Object Blocks (Bear face, Cat Face, Dog Face, Bunny Face)
9 x Applique images (Tree, Flower, Star, heart, circle, square, triangle, hexagon, sun)
1 satin ribbon color sampler in either a rainbow or a weave pattern
Bright poly/cotton backing and boarder

30 Block Blanket $410 (approximately 45″ x 54″). The blanket is made up of 30 fabric “blocks”. They include:

1 two block center of cotton with custom embroidery (child’s name and some simple images)
12 x Specialty fabric blocks (2 Plush, 2 Faux Fur, 1 Brocade, 1 Vinyl, 1 Sequin, 2 Velvet, 1 Velour, 2 Fleece)
4 x Furry Object Blocks (Bear face, Cat Face, Dog Face, Bunny Face)
10 x Applique images (Tree, Flower, Star, hear, circle, square, triangle, hexagon, sun, lightning bolt)
1 satin ribbon color sampler/rainbow or weave
2 Embroidered elements (choice of hot air balloon, butterflies, dragon flies, Floral, Kite, Plane, Shamrock, snowflakes, monster truck,)
